Although I love the burgundy's and khaki's that make an appearance this time of year, you can't beat a good old minimal black and grey look!
I love the Burberry inspired poncho trend thats going on at the moment and this striped one from River Island is fab, the dark tonal colours just looks so chic... I love it!

I will hold my hands up now and say I compare myself to others regularly. Whether it be when I'm scanning the rails at Zara and I see someone dressed cooler than me, a girl at the gym with a better figure than me or someone in class with a better idea than me; it is something that I do on a daily basis and is also something I am taking control over and putting a stop to, because it's unhealthy.
My 1st brief of 2nd year...aaarrghhh! All I keep saying in my mind is 'it counts, it counts, it counts' and I've been freaking myself out a little but a few days ago we handed in and I am pretty pleased with the outcome!
The brief (basic points)
- Choose a department store from this list, Harvey Nichols, Debenhams, Selfridges or John Lewis
- Choose a holiday or a strapline and design a postcard campaign for the chosen store (4 postcards)
- The 4 postcards must represent a home, fashion, food and beauty department within the store
So I decided to choose Harvey Nichols as I love the cheeky, witty nature of their campaigns and I felt this is something I'd love to work with and put my own spin on.
My idea/strapline was the upcoming Boxing Day sales and I chose to incorporate some boxing terminology and props into my postcards! I then came up with the hashtag/strapline 'knock 'em dead' to play on the Harvey Nichols' tongue-in-cheek humour. For the image I took photos with 2 models holding various props in some red boxing gloves and then photoshopped them into my final piece.
I also added a competition to the back of my postcards for extra promotion within the store.
So a few months ago I set about re-decorating the spare bedroom in our house in to a little closet space and it's finally complete (minus a curtain but...) so I thought I'd share the finished look with you!
I am constantly looking for ways to update my bedroom. Until it looks like it fell out of an Elle Decoration magazine I'll never be happy.
The current area on my hit list is my desk. I hate it. Which is funny because I actually picked all of the pieces myself...(I'm a nightmare for doing this, one minute i'll love something the next I'll hate it)
When I'm in Uni I spend my life at this desk, this is where the magic happens. Where my sketchbook for every project is born and completed (normally not till 2am the night before hand in...) So in my opinion it needs to be perfect.
I'd thought i'd share some pictures I've been pinning which can hopefully inspire us all to have that perfect work space!
Hey Guys!
Over the past month I've been picking up a few pieces to transition into my A/W wardrobe (the best kind if you ask me!)
I thought I'd share with you what I've picked up so far...I've been a tiny bit spend happy...
It's no secret that I looooove Alexa Chung. She is just fabulous in every way. So I put together some old and new pic's that I've been non-stop reblogging over on my tumblr ... she's a constant flow of inspiration!
As much as the warm weather is greatly appreciated here in the UK, I just cannot wait for A/W when I can wrap up in my wooly jumpers and order my favourite hot chocolate from Starbucks without the questioning looks...
Some of my most favourite pieces in my A/W wardrobe are my boots, so I decided to share with you the ones I'm currently lusting after for the coming season!
Enjoy!

Whether it's hitting the gym, doing your homework or simply getting out of bed in the morning, theres times where we all lack motivation, and the idea of staying in bed watching back to back episodes of Gossip Girl sounds a lot more appealing then doing the thing we set out to do.

So I'm sitting here trawling the internet for advice on a particular situation and I feel like I hit an all time low when in find myself on Yahoo Answers... lets be honest the 'Top Answer' of 'Get over it' isn't very helpful at all.
You know when you hear that one song and you love it so much that you have it on repeat all day everyday until you cannot stand it anymore. That's what I'm doing right now with this song :
Does anyone else ever feel like you're not doing enough? Like you should be seeing the world and experiencing and learning new things every day, instead of sitting in bed watching Sex And The City repeats while forcing your dog to stay in your room so you'll feel less lonely ? Because that's pretty much what is happening right this second.
When I say insane, I don't mean 'this is a weird and crazy album' kind of insane, I mean 'this is an amazing album which I've had on repeat all day and with each song it just gets better and better and I think he might just be a lyrical genius and wow please turn it up' kind of insane.
Like many people, I love Ed Sheeran. Ever since I heard 'You need me, I don't need you' and the cool singing rap thing he does, I've been intrigued with the great things his voice can do and his songs, which are nothing like I've heard before.
Ed's last album, '+' , was nothing short of amazing and has become one of my favourite albums of all time, and I have a feeling 'X' will be the exact same.
My current most played off the album are:
- Tenerife Sea
- Photograph
- I'm A Mess
- Thinking Out Loud
- Shirt Sleeves
- Take It Back
(to be honest I should just name all the tracks but...)
Even if you aren't a huge fan of Ed, I really hope you give his new album a listen because it really is great and I don't care what you say, you'll love it!

Let me know what you think and what music you're loving at the mo'!

As I've probably stated a gazillion times, Alexa Chung is my ultimate style icon. There is rarely an outfit that I dislike and this Summer she is proving that time and time again!
Summer isn't my favourite season to dress for, but the more Chung I see the more she is changing my mind!
If I had to choose a season which I love dressing for, it'd definitely be A/W! I just love the colour palettes, the layering, wearing amazing coats and fab boots...but Summer is s l o w l y approaching (it's currently raining here in England) so I decided to give my wardrobe a revamp and find a style that suits me and that I can have fun experimenting with this summer!
That trend is 'Boho' - As seen on Kate Moss, The Olsen twins, Nicole Richie and many other style icons - I love the relaxed feel of this trend, as I've never been one for hot pants or crop tops and the prints and shapes are gorgeous!
So, like many people in the UK, in my house we have 'the little bedroom' (a.k.a the box room/junk room/unused,messy guest bedroom etc)...and as I have finished uni for the Summer I've decided to set myself a little summer project!
I've always loved the idea of a walk in wardrobe or closet and since this room is just full of junk, with a little persuasion I have been given the ok from my Dad to redecorate it and have it as my own!
(as long as I clean out the junk myself!) WahoooOoo!!!!
It isn't a huge room but it's a good size so I've took to Pinterest for some inspiration / over the top ideas on what is actually possible...

This week has been quite a stressful one as I'm coming to the end of my 1st year at Uni and I'm handing in my final project in 11 days! AAaaahhhhh! I've been off from Uni for the past two weeks for our Easter break, but it has not been a break for me! I've either been working on my project or have been at actual work and I just cannot wait for summer! (I break up on the 8th of May until September...Very excited)
This weeks Uni project:
As some of you seemed quite interested in my previous Uni assignment posts, I thought I'd share my latest one with you. Although this CAD project isn't my main assignment, it's still a fairly interesting one!
We had to design a t shirt for a chosen brand for S/S 14 - using the dreaded Adobe Illustrator... (I am still coming to terms with it and right now, it is the devil). The design could be focused on a message, print or a current trend.
I looked to the current logo/slogan trend for inspiration and teamed it with the emerging pop art trend to design a tee for House Of Holland, since HOH are pretty famous for their quirky slogan tee's I thought the two went hand in hand.
So today was the day that I handed in my window display! If you didn't catch my last uni project post, I had to create a window display for a chosen store based on an event, day or trend during Spring/Summer '14.
I decided to create a display for Urban Outfitters, specifically the Manchester City Centre store, and my day was 'World Music Day' which is on the 21st of June every year!
We had the choice to make a 2d or 3d model, and I thought a 3d model would be a lot more visual and interactive!
The picture below is the finished result, the idea being that a live band is playing in the window!

If I could dress/look like Kate Moss for the rest of my life I'd be happy.
